Box Score Valdosta, Ga.--Shorter baseball wrapped up the three game series with Valdosta State Sunday afternoon, falling to the Blazers 11-0. The win gives the VSU the three game sweep of the Hawks for 2014.
Shorter moves to 1-9 on the season and 0-3 in the Gulf South Conference, while Valdosta improves to 9-0 and 3-0 in conference play.
The Blazers struck early, putting up five runs in the second inning, adding two in the fourth, and four in the fifth en route to the 11-0 win.
Jarod Stanley earned the win for Valdosta State, allowing no runs on five hits with three strikeouts over five innings of work. Shorter's
Travis McPherson recorded the loss after only pitching 1.2 innings, allowing five runs on two hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
Of the Hawks five hits on the day,
Dylan Riner came away with two.

Bryan Mathews, and
Charlie Gillis each recorded one hit.
Shorter will be back in action Saturday, February 22, as Christian Brothers visits the Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex for a three game series. Saturday's doubleheader is set to begin at 12:00pm.
