Volleyball stays hot with 3-0 win over Lee

Shorter volleyball took to the home court for the last time in 2013, with a huge win over Gulf South Conference rival, Lee University. The win gives Shorter a season split with the Lady Flames, while also keeping the Lady Hawks win streak alive. Not only has volleyball won eight straight games, but they've also extended their home win streak to nine games.

Shorter won the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-21, respectively. During the sets, the score was tied a total of four times, but the Lady Hawks never found themselves on the losing end. In the final set, Shorter ultimately came out on top, but Lee didn't go down easily; tying the score 17 times, with the advantage changing sides 10. When it was all said and done, the Lady Hawks were victorious 28-26.

Jasmine Crook led the attack for Shorter with 14 kills during the match, she also added 9 digs. Elizabeth Dowd posted a match high 20 digs, and 9 kills. Tanequa Whitman chipped in with 15 digs.

Cheyenne Frady led the Lady Hawks with 23 assists, while also making 11 digs. Dena Pierce added 19 assists, and 11 digs.

In their final home game for Shorter Jennifer Campbell finished the night with 5 kills and 3 digs, and Kelsey Kirk recorded 5 kills and 4 digs.

The Lady Hawks will conclude the regular season this weekend as they travel to Alabama for a GSC double-header. First, taking on North Alabama Friday at 8pm eastern, and then travelling to Alabama Huntsville on Saturday for a 3pm eastern start.
