Randy Moore named Director of Strength & Conditioning

The Shorter University Department of Athletics announced today the hiring of Randy Moore as its new Director of Strength and Conditioning.

"We are very excited to add Randy as our Director of Strength and Conditioning. He is a much needed addition to our department," comments Shorter Director of Athletics, Kim Graham.

"I would like to thank Kim Graham for giving me this opportunity to serve as the Director of Strength and Conditioning," says Moore. "I am very thankful, excited, and blessed to be chosen for this position."

Moore brings to Shorter a wealth of knowledge in the area of strength and conditioning, having served in similar roles at American University, Gallaudet University, and most recently, Allegheny College.

While at Allegheny, Moore served as the Director of Peak Performance and Fitness, aiding the College's 21 varsity teams in a variety of areas in order to enhance athletic performance.

"My goal is to undertake the department's mission and vision statements, along with the institution's, and develop the Strength and Conditioning department, maximize the athletic potential and experiences of each student-athlete, and make a positive impact in the athletic department and community," Moore adds. "This department is headed in the right direction, and I am ecstatic to be a part of, and assist in, the direction it is heading."

Moore is a 2011 graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich. with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Exercise Science. While at Oakland, Moore was a member of the track team, running the 60m, 100m, 200m, and 4x100m distances.

"One of his attributes is that he has worked with all sports and has vast experience working with collegiate athletes," Graham concludes. "Our student-athletes and coaches will benefit from his knowledge and expertise in performance training."
