Box Score ROME--In their final game of the season Shorter Women's Lacrosse fell to Florida Southern 21-4, to close out the 2014 campaign with a 5-9 record.
Shorter jumped out to an early lead as
Shelby Beverly scored back to back goals at 29:31 and 28:24, respectively. However, that was all the offense the Lady Hawks would muster in first half as the Mocs scored eleven unanswered goals in the first half to take a 11-2 lead into the intermission.
After the break, Florida Southern scored twice more before Beverly netted her third goal of the game with 22:42 to play. The Mocs added another goal, followed by the Lady Hawks final goal of the game as Chrystal Marshall found the back of the net. In the remaining minutes Florida Southern added seven goals to earn the win, 21-4.
Taylor Moody played the complete game in goal for Shorter; making 14 saves on 35 shots faced. Katie Hammerer and Taylor Gillis split time in goal for Florida Southern, with Hammerer making 6 saves.
In total, the Mocs outshot the Lady Hawks 42-15, while also holding the advantage in ground balls 40-26, and winning 15 draws to Shorter's 12.

Amber Hicks,
Rachel Skinner,
Katie Ott,
Bianca Rojas,
Aiste Pranciliauskaite, and Patrice Allen – who've been a part of the Lacrosse program since the beginning.
