Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Shorter Hawks (3-12, 3-6 CC) fell to Emmanuel (8-7, 5-3 CC) in a 21-5 defeat Thursday night in their regular-season finale.
The Lions got on the board with a goal at the 8:32 mark before
Kaitlyn Dwyer-Peppers followed with a goal of her own to even it. The hosts were able to tack on three more goals in the opening frame as the Hawks fell behind 4-1 after one.Â
Cassidy Jones got the Hawks on the board quickly in the second quarter with a goal to cut the deficit for Shorter. The Lions responded with three straight before Dwyer-Peppers stopped the scoring drought with a man-up score to make it 7-3. Emmanuel added three more goals to extend their lead as Shorter entered the half behind 10-3.Â
Emmanuel controlled the pace of the contest the rest of the way, outscoring the Hawks 11-2 in the second half. Anderlyn Buford and and
Kayla Roscoe were able to get two in the back of the net for the Hawks, as they fell in a 21-5 final.Â
