Dayton, Tenn.--Volleyball dropped its second straight in a 3-1 loss to Bryan College Wednesday evening.
Bryan took the lead early, winning the first set 25-17. Shorter was able to even things up in the second set, winning 25-15. However, Bryan won the final two to take the match 3-1. Scores were 25-21 and 25-21 for the final two sets.
The loss drops the Lady Hawks to 3-2 on the season; while Bryan improves to 9-1.
Elizabeth Dowd finished with a team leading 18 digs and 9 kills.
Erica Baker and
Anna Graham each recorded 10 kills.
Dena Pierce dished out 25 assists to bring her season total to 116; while also recording 13 digs.
Tanequa Whitman chipped in with 12 digs, and
Jasmine Crook finished with 6 digs and 9 kills.
The Lady Hawks won't be back in action until September 20, as they begin Gulf South Conference play and welcome West Florida to the Winthrop-King Centre. Match begins at 6:00pm.
