Volleyball extends streak to four with, 3-1, win over Valdosta State

ROME--
Volleyball topped Valdosta State, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at the Winthrop-King Centre in Gulf South conference play. Set scores were 25-16, 25-19, 26-24, and 25-23, respectively with the Blazers taking set three.

The win improves the Lady Hawks to 15-9 on the season, and 8-5 in conference play.

Shorter had four players reach double digits in kills; Elizabeth Dowd led the attack with 14, Jasmine Crook and Anna Graham each recorded 11, and Erica Baker had 10.

Tanequa Whitman posted a match high 20 digs, Crook chipped in with 15, and Dowd and Dena Pierce recorded 10.

Cheyenne Frady and Pierce each dished out 25 assists over the four sets en route to the win.

The Lady Hawks will be back in action Tuesday, November 5, as Bryan College visits Rome. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
