Florence, Ala.--Volleyball won its 20th game of the season Friday night as they defeated North Alabama, 3-1. The win also extends the Lady Hawks streak to nine games.
Overall Shorter has a 20-9 record, and a 12-5 mark in Gulf South Conference play.
The Lady Hawks went up 2-0, winning the first sets by 25-20 and 25-23 scores, respectively. North Alabama rallied to cut the lead in half by winning set three 25-22. Shorter wrapped up the win by taking the final set, 25-19.
Jasmine Crook finished the night with 14 kills and 14 digs; while
Elizabeth Dowd chipped in with 12 kills and 17 digs, a team high for the Lady Hawks.
Tanequa Whitman recorded 13 digs over the four sets.
Dena Pierce dished out 23 assists for Shorter, and added 10 digs to her totals.
Cheyenne Frady added 19 assists during the match. Â
For North Alabama Shantel Fredrick recorded a match high 20 digs, and Hope Rayburn posted 46 assists.
The Lady Hawks wrap up regular season play tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Huntsville to take on the Chargers; game time is set to 3pm eastern.
