ROME—The Lady Hawks won their fourth straight match Tuesday evening at home with a 3-1 one victory over conference foe Alabama Huntsville.
The win improves Shorter to 8-5 overall, and 4-3 in conference play.
Shorter got off to a good start winning the first set, 25-23. But, the Chargers came back and evened things up taking the second set, 25-19. The final two sets went to the Lady Hawks, 25-22 and 25-17, respectively.
After beginning conference play 0-3 this season, Shorter has gotten back in the win column with four straight wins over conference opponents.
Tanequa Whitman earned a team high 30 digs, which tied her with Alabama Huntsville's Stacey Sargent for the match high.
Elizabeth Dowd and
Jasmine Crook each finished the night with double-digit kills and digs. Dowd with 12 kills and 17 digs, and Crook recorded 19 kills and 18 digs.
Dena Pierce chipped in with 18 digs, while recorded a match high 32 assists.
Cheyenne Frady added 19 assists on the night.
