Carrollton, Ga.--Volleyball picked up its first conference win of the season this evening with a 3-0 win over West Georgia on the road.
The win evens the Lady Hawks at 5-5 on the season, and 1-3 in the Gulf South Conference.
Set scores for the match were 21-25, 30-28, and 25-14, respectively. En route to the win, Shorter saw 14 tie scores and five lead changes during the three sets.
Three Lady Hawks ended the night with double-digit kills;
Jasmine Crook recorded 12,
Erica Baker 10, and
Anna Graham 11.
Crook also recorded 11 digs, while
Elizabeth Dowd chipped in with 16.
Tanequa Whitman earned a match high 27 digs.
Dena Pierce and
Cheyenne Frady combined for a grand total of 46 assists, with 26 and 20, respectively.
Shorter will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Christian Brothers University and Union University for Gulf South action. Friday's match with Christian Brothers is set to begin at 8:00 PM eastern, and Saturday's match with Union will begin at 2:00 PM eastern.
