ROME, Ga.- The Shorter Women's Soccer team fell in a 2-0 defeat on Wednesday afternoon to Emmanuel at Ben Brady Field.
Both teams battled early, with no side able to gain an advantage. This would change in the 15th minute as the Lions converted on a header from a corner to take an early 1-0 lead. Shorter continued to fight and was able to prevent the visitors from striking again as they entered the break.
After another quiet stretch, the Lions unfortunately found the back of the net to extend their lead. The Hawks battled, but fell in a 2-0 defeat.

Shorter will look to bounce back as they take on UNC Pembroke this Saturday in their conference road opener. First kick is slated for 12 p.m. ET.
