Box Score PEMBROKE, N.C.- The Shorter Women's soccer team fell to UNC Pembroke on the road Saturday afternoon in a 10-0 defeat at Lumbee River EMC Stadium.
The loss drops Shorter to 1-2 this season and 1-2 in conference play.
The Hawks faced a flurry of shots from the hosts to begin the contest, as the Pembroke offense continued to create opportunites. UNCP eventually found the back of the net in the 13th minute to take the 1-0 lead. Shorter contunued to fight, but would give up another goal before the half concluded, trailing 2-0 as the period ended.
Shots continued to fly for the hosts, as they extended their lead with a goal in the 52nd minute. The Braves did not let up, adding eight more goals to make it a 9-0 defeat.
UP NEXT
The Hawks will face off against Young Harris this Wednesday in Rome, with first kick slated for 4:00 p.m.
