- The Hawks will kick off the season as they host NAIA opponent Andrew College on Saturday. In the past five seasons, the Hawks have gone 4-1 in season openers.
- Shorter returns 41% of their roster from a year ago while welcoming several newcomers who look to make an immediate impact for the Hawks this year. Key returners for the Hawks include quarterback Jeb Walls and the Conference Carolinas offensive lineman of the year, Isaac Walls.
- The Hawks were one of the most dynamic offenses in the conference last season, leading the league in rushing yards per contest (187.5) and third in points per game (26.7).
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Andrew College enters its third year of competition in the SSAC, where they have been very successful, compiling a 13-3 record in their first two seasons.
- The Tigers finished 2025 at 8-1, putting up 33.2 points per game while averaging 247 yards per contest on the ground, showcasing their dominance offensively.
- Andrew College posted a strong defense as well, allowing just 17.6 points per game while forcing 19 turnovers.
