ROME- The Shorter Hawks baseball team suffered a series sweep against Belmont Abbey in their first weekend of conference play after a 24-5 loss on Saturday.
Â
The Crusaders struck first, scoring on an error, but the Hawks were able to match their pace in the bottom of the first after an RBI double from
Brooks McKenna and an RBI base on balls from
Isaiah Sims. However, the Crusaders'Â offense would continue to mash throughout the next eight innings with seven doubles and two homers, resulting in a 24-5 final and a series sweep against Shorter.
