CENTRAL, S.C.- The Shorter men's soccer team suffered a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Southern Wesleyan Warriors Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors got on the board quickly, scoring right at the seventh minute to jump ahead 1-0. The Hawks responded in the 26th minute as
Joao Beer connected with
Shalom Akinbulumo for a goal to even the score and give the Hawks some momentum. Southern Wesleyan found the net towards the end of the first half to make it a 2-1 affair at halftime.
The Hawks battled in the second half, but struggled to contain the Warriors' offense, who added four goals in the second half, making it a 6-1 final.
The loss drops Shorter to 0-6-0 on the season while falling to 0-4-0 in conference action.

Shorter will have a brief break in conference action as they welcome Middle Georgia State for a midweek match this Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
