ROME, Ga.- The Shorter men's soccer team fell to Middle Georgia State Wednesday night in a 2-0 defeat.
The Hawks' defensive stronghold was one of their best all season.
Santiago Gonzalez Uribe recorded seven total saves, keeping the Hawks within a goal for most of the game. After an early goal, the Hawks shut down the Knights' offense as they headed into the half.
The second half rolled around as the Hawks continued to play physical defense and slow down the Knights' offense. The Knights, unfortunately, found the net thanks to a penalty kick in the 65th minute to jump ahead 2-0. Offensively,
Rogelio Rojas played aggressively for the remainder of the game, helping the Hawks get to within striking distance by recording three shots with one on target. Shorter continued to battle, but would fall in a 2-0 final.
The loss makes Shorter 0-7-0 on the season
