ROME, Ga.- The Shorter men's soccer team fell in a hard-fought loss tonight against the Emmanuel University Lions, 2-1.
The Hawks and Lions battled early, with Emmanuel striking first with a goal at the 22nd minute. The Lions continued to play aggressively as they forced many shots that would be stopped by Santiago-Gonzalez-Uribe.Â
Both sides continued to fight, as Shorter's offense started to find their rhythm. The Lions would strike once more in the 58th minute to make it a two-score game. Shorter continued to push and would finally find the net late in the 89th minute as
Gabe DeHart scored his second goal of the season off a beautifully placed ball from
Rogelio Rojas. Shorter had one more opportunity in the final seconds, but could not convert as they fell in a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat.Â
The loss drops the Hawks to 0-8-0 overall, while falling to 0-5-0 in conference play.
