Shorter Blanks Erskine at Home for First Victory of Season

ROME, Ga.- The Shorter men's soccer team earned their first victory of the season as they downed Erskine at Ben Brady this afternoon, 1-0.

Gabe DeHart helped give the Hawks momentum early as he converted on a beautifully placed ball from Shalom Akinbulumo in the sixth minute to put Shorter up a goal. The Hawks offense continued to make strides, as they found several opportunities in the first half, while their defense shut down the Fleet.

Both teams battled with each other on both sides of the net, as there were a combined 34 shots between the teams. Santiago Gonzalez Uribe continued his recent string of solid play, as he recorded seven saves to keep the Fleet out of striking distance. Shorter held off the Fleet in the final minutes to earn their first victory of the 2025 campaign.

The win improves the Hawks to 1-8-0 on the year, while making their conference record 1-5-0.
