DUE WEST, S.C.- The Shorter women's soccer team fell to the Erskine Fleet Wednesday afternoon in a 2-0 final.
The Fleet scored early at the 13:14 minute mark to jump ahead 1-0. After Erskine got on the board, both sides engaged in a defensive battle that lasted all the way into the second half. The Hawks hung with Erskine, finding several opportunities on the offensive side. After a long sequence of back-and-forth shots by both teams, the Fleet iced the game with a late goal at the 89th minute to make it a 2-0 final.
Karis Eccleston and Anna Kate Welch performed well for the Hawks, totaling seven saves between the two.

Shorter will continue on the road where they will face Barton this Saturday at 12:00 PM.
