MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga.- The Shorter volleyball team's eight-match win streak came to an end Thursday night after they fell to Georgia College on the road in four sets.
The Hawks had a strong start in the opening set, leading 8-5 early. The Bobcats stormed back by outscoring Shorter 20-7 to take set one. Shorter responded well in the second set by jumping out in front 16-8 at the halfway mark. The Bobcats made a late push, but it would not be enough as the Hawks evened the score.
After falling behind early in the third set, the Hawks pushed the tempo to make it interesting. Despite Shorter's best efforts, the Bobcats maintained control by not trailing throughout the set, which ultimately secured them the set victory. Both squads engaged in a nail-biter early in the fourth set, with Georgia College finally jumping ahead. The Hawks found themselves trailing 24-20 but managed to crawl back into it, eventually tying the score at 24. Unfortunately for Shorter, the Bobcats closed out the set with back-to-back kills to grab the victory.

Caroline Sivills followed closely with ten.
Helena Kelley set well for the Hawks, psoting 22 assists.
Claudia Loyola and
