ROME, Ga.- The Shorter Men's Soccer team fell to Ferrum Saturday afternoon at Ben Bradu Field in a 4-1 defeat.
Ferrum opened the scoring first in the seventh minute, but was answered quickly with an electric goal from Carter Morningstar just minutes later to even the score. The remainder of the half saw both sides playing physical defense and generating opportunities offensively. Joao Beer and Shalom Akinbulumo kept the pressure on offense, forcing the Panthers to rely on their defense as both sides entered the half deadlocked.
As the second half began, both sides continued to battle. Unfortunately, Ferrum opened the floodgates by scoring three goals in 16 minutes to overpower the Hawks and defeat them in a 4-1 loss.
The loss drops to Shorter 2-12 overall while falling to 2-9-0 in conference.
