ROME, Ga.- The Shorter men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought contest in Rome to #5 Young Harris in a 2-1 defeat.
Young Harris struck first in the 15th minute to take the early 1-0 advantage. Shorter prevented the Mountain Lions from finding the net for the remainder of the half, thanks to a great display of defense. Shorter began the second half in a major way, as Charles Garcia scored a penalty kick goal in the 50th minute after
Rogelio Rojas drew a foul in the box to even the score. Not long after, Young Harris found the net just four minutes later to take back the lead. The Hawks continued to fight and created several opportunities offensively, but it would not be enough as they fell in a 2-1 defeat.
The loss drops the Hawks to 1-10 overall and 1-7 in conference play.
