ROME, Ga. — In the recent game on Saturday, the Shorter University's Men's Lacrosse team went head-to-head against Tennessee Wesleyan University. This nail biter was highly anticipated, with the Tenn. Wesleyan Bulldogs being 2-0 in previous matches against the Shorter Hawks. Despite the Bulldogs getting off to a quick 3-0 start, Jaden Sealey poured it on making it 3-3 by the end of the first quarter. Sealey picked up where he left off to start the second, tallying his fourth of the day, assisted by Javier Gonzalez. It didn't take long for the Hawks to take a sizable lead, going into halftime up 10-5. The Bulldogs fought back coming into the second half, going on a 3 goal run to start the 3rd quarter. Thanks to Shorter's 5 different goal scorers, led by Seniors, Jaden Sealey (7 goals) and Ethan Kavanugh (2 goals, 3 assists), the Hawks were able to tack on 13 goals throughout the game. Shorter was also backed by a solid defensive unit, seeing Senior Goalie, Chase Finley making 15 saves, and Freshman, Joshua Faile causing 1 turnover and scooping up 4 ground balls. Tenn. Wesleyan didn't go down without a fight, but the Hawks held them off to secure their second win of the season, 13-12.
