Rome, Ga. – The Hawks took on Fairmont State University through a competitive weekend at Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex.
Game 1 – Shorter, 8 Fairmont State 1
The Hawks took the lead bottom of the 3rd inning on a double by Jacob Pajer, scoring Kody Krause and Logan Stockton, followed by a 2-run homerun by Kobe Jones. Jacob Pajer doubled again in the 4thinning, scoring Logan Stockton and Justin Barnes, followed by a Logan Stockton homerun in the 6th inning.
Seth Crowe started the mound pitching for 6 innings, allowing 1 run. He was followed by Darrell Johnson, Cole McDaniel, and Aiden Berggren, all pitching one inning each and giving up no runs.
Game 2 – Shorter 5, Fairmont State 2
The Hawks scored early in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly by Levi Madella that scored Kobe Jones. Jacob Pajer had an RBI single in the second, and Logan Stockton homered in the 4th, securing the Hawks's win.
On the mound for the Hawks to start the game was Tanner Folds, pitching 3 innings and allowing one run. Coy Martin pitched an inning, giving up no runs, followed by Manato Tateno (1 run) and Wyatt Getz, giving up no runs
Game 3 – Shorter 6, Fairmont State 5
In the final game of the series, the Hawks took the lead in the bottom of the 2, scoring 4 runs on doubles by Lody Krause, Kobe Jones, and G. Clark. Levi Madella singled in the 5th inning, scoring G. Clark. The final run was scored in the bottom of the 7th inning on a double by Levi Madella that scored G. Clark. Simon Aluko started on the mound for the Hawks, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing 2 runs. Blayne Fritcher gave up 3 runs. Jace Armstrong and Tanner Folds also pitched, giving up no runs.
