Lady Hawks Win 4th Straight

MORROW, Ga. — Lady Hawks breeze by the Clayton State Lakers on the road Thrusday night for 4th straight win.

SUMMARY:
Shorter University (5-1, 1-0 Conference Carolinas) dominated in a decisive victory over Clayton State (2-7, 0-1 Peach Belt) on the road. Shorter showcased its depth and balanced scoring with standout performances from several key players. Shorter built their lead steadily, outscoring Clayton State in every quarter, highlighted by dominant 25-point performances in the second and third periods. Their offense was fueled by a solid shooting night, converting 46.9% of field goals and 61.9% from three-point range. Further evidence of the spectacular shooting night could be explained by Derrica McCall's banked 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded for halftime.

Defensively, Shorter was relentless, forcing 17 turnovers and converting them into 20 points. They also out-rebounded the Lakers. The Hawks continued to hang their hats on the defensive side of the ball by holding Clayton State to 29% from the field.

NOTEWORTHY:

· Derrica McCall led the way with 17 points, including 3 three-pointers, and added 6 assists and 2 steals.

· Emariah Grant provided a spark off the bench, scoring a game-high 19 points while shooting 4-6 from beyond the arc.

· Tiara Lewis notched another Double-Double (15 points and 11 rebounds).

· Ahtiana Benway was perfect from the field, tallying 16 points, including 4 three-pointers
