Hawks Add Another Win Over Albany State

SUMMARY:

The Shorter Hawks secured a decisive victory over Albany State, outpacing their opponent 71-59 on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. Despite a slow start with the first quarter ending in a 17-17 tie, Shorter turned up the intensity in the second quarter, outscoring Albany State 20-9.

Shorter maintained their dominance in the third quarter, putting up 21 points compared to Albany State's 18. Derrica McCall led the charge with 24 points, shooting 9-16 from the field, and contributing crucial baskets at key moments. Emariah Grant added 14 points, hitting 2 three-pointers, while Ariyah Brooks was perfect from the field with 10 points in just 14 minutes.

The Hawks controlled the game inside, tallying 40 points in the paint and capitalizing on Albany State's turnovers with 22 points. Strong defensive plays, including steals by McCall and key rebounding efforts from Tiara Lewis, helped maintain the lead.
