ROME, Ga.— The Hawks faced off against a tough GSC opponent in the Montevallo Falcons. The Hawks took a quick lead, taking the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-22. But the Falcons wouldn't go down without a fight. They bounced right back, taking the next two sets and tying it back up with a deciding 5th set on its way.
It was neck and neck the entire way, but the Falcons rose above the Hawks 16-14, winning it all. Despite the disappointing loss, the Hawks played outstanding in this GSC matchup. Leading the charge was Victoria Sparks with 18 kills and Marysa Ocampo with 24 assists.
The Hawks are now 3-9 overall and 0-4 in the GSC. This Saturday they head up to Cleveland, TN to take on the Lee Flames in another GSC showdown.
