Valdosta, Georgia— Lady Hawks Volleyball suffers defeat after losing in 3 sets to the Valdosta State Blazers. The Hawks lost the sets with scores of 22-25, 18-25, and 25-27. Despite not securing the overall 'W,' the Hawks did edge out the Blazers in other aspects of the match. The Lady Hawks had 5 different players combine for 7 aces, topping Valdosta's 5 aces. Freshman Victoria Sparks led offensively with 8 kills, followed by Caroline Sivills and Mary Beth Long who both notched 7. Abigail Cima posted 14 digs across the 3 sets. Marysa Ocampo stayed consistent, leading the hawks yet again with 15 assists. The team's effort showed until the very end with the Hawks forcing the final set to go to 25-27.
