Mobile, AL— The Shorter University Lady Hawks golf team competed in the GSC Conference Championship this week. Their final tournament was hosted at RTJ Magnolia Grove Golf Course. This 18-hole course is a Par 72 with a length of 5,803 yards. The Lady Hawks were consistent across the 3 days shooting a total of 915, +51. Their best day being day 2 where they scored a team total of 298, with a low round score of 73 by senior, Averi Schrews. The final score of 915, resulted in the Lady Hawks finishing 5th out of 9. The top Lady Hawk from the tournament was Kiara Hernandez who tied for 2nd overall. With an overall score of 217, for the tournament, she only got better as the tournament went on. Scoring 75 on the first day, 72 on the second, and the second-lowest score of the tournament at 70 on the day 3. This is the best finish by a Lady Hawk since 2014 and Kiara Hernandez earned herself a spot on the all-tournament team.
