Pawley's Island, SC.— Shorter University Women's Golf team traveled to South Carolina to compete in the 2023 Battle at Hilton Head tournament hosted by Barton College. The tournament was a Par 72/5934-yard played at RTJ Palmetto Dunes course. The Hawks finished the first round tied for 5^th place with a team score of 309. After the first day, Abigail Cheney shot a 74 and Kiara Hernandez a 75 and were the top scoring Lady Hawks. The final round saw an improvement as they moved up to 4^th place out of 22 teams. They finished with a score of 616, 3 strokes behind Lee University. This was a great result for the Hawks who were able to beat 5 teams ranked higher according to Golfstat. Our top-scoring Lady Hawk for the tournament was Abigail Cheney with 72 on the second day and a total individual score of 146. She finished in tied 3^rd earning All-Tournament Team Honors.
