The Lady Hawks golf team traveled to Cleveland, TN to compete in the City with Spirit Classic hosted by Lee University at the par 72/6,000 yard Cleveland Country Club. The women's golf team fought hard throughout the 54-hole event and finished 11th out of 13 teams. The City with Spirit Classic field consisted of numerous teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation including Lee, Limestone, Anderson, and Carson Newman. Shorter University was led by Senior
Averi Schrews of Bremen, GA, and Freshman
Kiara Hernandez of Burbank, CA. Schrews finished with a top 20 performance which included three rounds in the 70s. Her overall score for the event was 233 (+17). Hernandez shot rounds of 78-77-80 and finished T29 on the strong leaderboard. The Shorter Hawks shot 315-321 on Monday and 316 on Tuesday to total 953 (+89). They beat out Union University and the University of North Georgia.
