Hawks Suffer Tough Conference Loss at Home

 

The Shorter Hawks Women's Soccer team suffered an unfortunate loss to the Delta State Statesmen 7-0 on Friday at Ben Brady Field. 

 

The contest marked the first conference loss at home for the Hawks (0-7-1, 0-3 GSC), who surrendered a goal less than a minute into the contest.

 

Throughout the next 44 minutes, the Statesmen would strike three more goals to send the Hawks into halftime down by four.

 

The game played back-and-forth in the opening moments of the second half, with the Statesmen driving three more goals to seal the contest.

 

The Shorter Hawks will return to action Sunday, Sept. 18, when they host Mississippi College.

 

Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm at Ben Brady Field.
