CALERO, Ala.-- The Shorter University women's golf team traveled to Calera, AL to compete in the 2022 Full Moon BBQ Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo at the par 71/5,800 yard Timberline Golf Club. The Lady Hawks battled over the two-day tournament and finished 5th out of 9 teams. The team was led by Freshman Kiara Hernandez of Burbank, CA who fired rounds of 76 and 75 (+9). Kiara finished T9 for the event. Averi Schrews also contributed with two scores of 79 and 78 (+15). The Shorter Hawks shot 310 on Monday and 316 on Tuesday to total 616 (+58). They finished ahead of Union University, Spring Hill, and Mississippi College who are all Gulf South Conference Teams. The women's golf team competes again on Monday, September 26 at the City with Spirit Class hosted by Lee University. This event will be held in Cleveland, TN at Cleveland Country Club.
