AMERICUS, Ga. – The Shorter Hawks were shut out by the Georgia Southwestern State University Hurricanes 10-0 in a non-conference on Wednesday evening.
Shorter is now 24-18 on the season while Georgia Southwestern State is now 23-23 on the season.
The Hurricanes plated five of their 10 runs in the home half of the first. They then scored three additional runs in the bottom of the second, one run in the bottom of the third and one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Lyndon Weaver and
Andres Ferreiro are the only two Hawks to record a hit in this evening's game. Weaver went 1-for-3 while Ferreiro went 1-for-2 with a walk.
Sam Darling pitched two innings in relief for the Hawks, striking out two and giving up one run on one hit and two walks.
Tyler McWillie pitched an inning in relief, striking out one.
Andrew Asselin pitched an inning in relief, striking out one and giving up one hit.

The Hawks return to action on the road on Friday to start the final Gulf South Conference (GSC) series of the regular season. Shorter will face the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks in a doubleheader on Friday. First pitch of game one is slated for 4 p.m.
