ROME, Ga. – The Shorter men's lacrosse team finally returned to the friendly confines of Shorter University on Tuesday for a matchup with
Lincoln Memorial University under the lights at Ben Brady Field. The Hawks played a solid first half, but the second half was all LMU, as the visiting Railsplitters won 18-8.
The Hawks found themselves down 5-1 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the visitors 5-3 in the second period to trail LMU 8-6 at the half. However, LMU came out of the half and were on fire the remainder of the game on the way to the aforementioned 18-8 final score.

Alexander Hudgins tied teammate
Jaden Sealey with three goals on the night, while
Gunnar Uutinen and
Kaleb Roehn recorded an additional goal each. Roehn also led Shorter in assists with two. As for LMU (4-7), Rhodes Conroy scored a game-high six goals, while Francis O'Hara and Caleb Raydo had three apiece. O'Hara also recorded five assists in the game.
The Hawks (1-8) will head up to Elkins, West Virginia, and face off against Davis & Elkins College on Saturday at noon.
