ROME, Ga.- The Shorter men's lacrosse team hosted
Keiser University on Saturday afternoon at Ben Brady Field. A big second quarter helped the visiting Seahawks get the win 14-6.
Four different Shorter players scored during the afternoon.
Earl Marshall led the Hawks with three goals, while teammates
Alexander Hudgins,
Jaden Sealey and
Ethan Kavanaugh each had a goal apiece. Marshall and
Kaleb Roehn each recorded an assist as well.
As for the game itself, the Hawks were down by two early in the first quarter, but Shorter battled back to tie the score at two via a Hudgins' goal that was assisted by Marshall with 2:31 left in the first period. However, the visitors owned the second period, as they outscored the Hawks 7-1. This, along with Keiser scoring four in the fourth quarter, proved to be too much, despite Shorter outscoring the visitors 2-1 in the third.
Keiser's Vincent Cersuolo scored a game-high seven goals, while teammate Max Hiestand finished second on the visitors with two goals to go along with his two assists. Cole Stassi led the Seahawks (2-0) in assists with three.
The Hawks (1-4) will be back on the field on Wednesday night, as they will face Emmanuel College at 6 p.m.
