VALDOSTA, Ga.- The Hawks traveled to Valdosta for a matchup with the Blazers from Valdosta State. The Hawks fought back from the five-point halftime deficit to win the game 74-70.

The first half was back and forth, but the Blazers went into halftime with a five-point lead. Valdosta held their halftime lead until eight minutes into the second half when Raphael Houssou tied the game at 40 on a three-point shot. For the next eight minutes neither team held more than a three-point lead. The Hawks broke that trend with three minutes to go in the game after a layup by Ralph Barnett. Shorter held off Valdosta for the last three minutes and won the game 74-70.

Mark Wilcox Jr. led the Hawks with 16 points and recorded two blocks. Raphael Houssou followed with 15 points. Grant Atchley was one rebound short of a double-double, but he scored 12 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Ricky Knight Jr. scored 14 points and recorded 7 rebounds. Six different Hawks scored points in this game and five of them scored over ten points. The Hawks led the Blazers in field goal percentage (47.3% - 40.6%), three-point percentage (28.6% - 28.0%), and free throw percentage (84.2% - 57.9%).

The Hawks will be back at home for the next three games to finish out the regular season. The first game will be on February 22^nd when the Hawks take on the Warhawks on Auburn-Montgomery. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
