MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Shorter Hawks were shut out 13-0 by the Georgia College Bobcats in their first road game of the 2022 season.
Shorter is now 5-3 on the season after today's game while Georgia College is now 4-5.
The Bobcats plated their first two runs in the bottom of the second courtesy of a two-run home run from Palmer Sapp. Georgia College scored four additional runs in the bottom of the fourth and seven runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Lyndon Weaver and
Justin Barnes both went 1-for-3 with a walk for the Hawks today.
Andres Ferreiro went 2-for-2.
Jesse Simpson (L, 1-1) started for the Hawks today and tossed 1.2 innings, striking out one and giving up two runs on two hits.
Sam Darling pitched the final two innings for Shorter and had four strikeouts.
