Valdosta, Ga.- The Lady Hawks went on the road to visit the Lady Blazers for the final game of the season. Shorter fought hard, but Valdosta State won the game two to one in double overtime.
Valdosta scored their first goal of the game in the eighth minute and held a one to nothing lead until Shorter tied it up in the 85
th minute with a goal by
Juliana Torres that was assisted by
Haley Cox. However, in the 106
th minutes Valdosta State scored the game winning goal.
Valdosta's Bailey Hern led the team with seven shots (three on goal), followed by Lauren Hicks with six shots (four on goal). Lauren Hicks also scored the game winning goal in double overtime. Shorter's
Erin Carter and
Juliana Torres led the Hawks with 2 shots. Juliana had both of her shots on goal and one goal scored.
Emily Lopez had 16 saves during the season finale.
