ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Hawks men's lacrosse team (2-4) fell 23-3 to the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks (1-1) on Friday evening at Ben Brady Field.
Three Hawks scored on the day, including William Millwood, Chadd Halili and Trey Edge.
Colorado Mesa scored 11 goals in the first half, including three from Jed Brummett, two from Jake Keyes, two from Drew Eickelman and one each from Micah Payton, James Steinke, AJ Switzer and Trey Corkin.
William Millwood scored the first goal of the game for the Hawks with less than three minutes to go in the first quarter. Chadd Halili then scored his first goal of the season in the second quarter. He was assisted by Trey Edge. This made the score 11-2 Colorado Mesa at the half.
The Mavericks were dominant in the second half and scored 12 more goals. Trey Edge scored the final goal of the game for the Hawks in the third quarter. He was assisted by Chadd Halili.
The Hawks return to action and begin Peach Belt Conference (PBC) play against the University of Montevallo on Friday, March 19 at Ben Brady Field with the game slated to start at 6 p.m.
