MONTREAT, N.C. – The Shorter men's lacrosse team (2-2) defeated the Montreat College Cavaliers (1-3) 10-9 on Monday afternoon at Montreat after Chase Parker scored an overtime goal to secure the win.

Four Hawks scored on the day, including Chase Parker and Kaleb Roehn who both scored three times and Gunnar Uutinen and William Millwood who both score twice.

The first four goals of the game were scored by Montreat, including two from Sam Jones, one from Chris Jackson and one from Chris Smith. Gunnar Uutinen then scored a goal for the Hawks before Chris Smith scored his second goal of the day for Montreat to conclude the first quarter.

Shorter scored four more goals, including one from Kaleb Roehn, one from William Millwood and two from Chase Parker, in the second quarter while Montreat only scored once to make the score 6-5 Montreat at the half.

The Hawks maintained control throughout the second half and scored five more times, including the overtime goal from Chase Parker, while the Cavaliers only scored three more times.

The Hawks return to action against Colorado Mesa University on Friday, March 12 at Ben Brady Filed with the game slated to start at 4 p.m.
