ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Hawks men's lacrosse team (1-1) fell 11-9 to Mars Hill University (2-1) on Saturday evening at Ben Brady Field.

Four Hawks scored on the day, including Trey Edge who scored five times, William Millwood who scored twice and Jaden Sealey and Maverick Hering who each scored once.

Brandon Beland scored the only goal in the first quarter give Mars Hill a 1-0 lead. Mars Hill scored three more goals in the second quarter while Shorter scored four goals, including two from William Millwood less than a minute apart, to tie the game 4-4 at the half.

Mars Hill scored three more goals until Shorter tied the game 7-7 after a goal from Maverick Hering in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Mars Hill took the lead back and maintained it for the rest of the game.

The Hawks return to action against Emmanuel College on Wednesday, February 24 at Ben Brady Field with the game slated to start at 4 p.m.
