Hawks Knock Big Blue Out of the Park

ROME, Ga – Game 1: The Shorter Hawks (5-2) started their homestand stance against Bluefield State (0-1). The Hawks went behind their Ace Jonathan Pintaro, who looked to improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Big Blue's struck first in the top of the first, taking the lead from an RBI Ty Sizemore single. The Hawks rallied back in the second inning, driving in two runs, on a sacrifice fly from Jakob Woods and Aaron Reardon scoring on an error, to take the lead 2-1. Pintaro continued his dominance on the mound, with the run support coming again in fourth with an RBI double from Woods, which was then added on by two more runs coming in on a throwing error from a ball hit by Reardon making the score 5-1. The Big Blue's answered back with a two-run shot of their own Tanner Brandon, making the game 5-3. Bailey Gerstner drove in the final run of the game, giving the Hawks the win 6-3 in a seven-inning game.

Kevin Ludden earned his second save of the season, and the Hawks improved to 5-2 on the season. Coach Wes Timmons and the Hawks look to continue their winning streak in game two of the doubleheader.

Game 2: The Shorter Hawks (6-2) started their homestand stance against Bluefield State (0-2). The Hawks went behind Ryan Parker, who looked to improve to 1-0 on the season.

The Hawks wasted no time putting up a four-spot, including an RBI single driven in from Gerstner, Nathaniel Butterworth driving in two runs on a single, and Luis Acevedo driving in a run on a fielder's choice. The Hawks continued to pour it on in the second inning with an RBI single from Gerstner, taking the Hawks' lead to 5-0. The Hawks then turned into having a monster inning driving in 11 runs. The highlights coming in from a homerun by Don Frayer, which drove in three runs, then Acevedo drove in a two-run home run to take the lead 16-0. The

Blue's attempted at a comeback in the sixth inning with a three-run blast from Kevon Moxey. The Hawks answered back with a huge sixth inning of their driving in seven runs. This gave the Hawks the lead, 25-3.

The Hawks improved to 6-2 on the season, looking to take a series sweep tomorrow. The first pitch is tomorrow at 1 pm at home for the Hawks.
