ROME, Ga. – The Shorter Hawks men's lacrosse team defeated LaGrange College 7-5 on Wednesday evening at Ben Brady Field to earn the team's first season opener win since 2016.

Four Hawks scored on the day, including Trey Edge who scored three times, Jack Margelli who scored twice and Jaden Sealey and Chase Parker who each scored once.

LaGrange's Tareyon Delgado, Robert Hunt and Jack Bryan scored the first three goals of the game in the first two quarters.

Jaden Sealey scored the first goal for the Hawks in the second quarter and Trey Edge scored another goal less than a minute later. Jack Margelli scored a goal near the end of the second quarter to tie the game 3-3. In the third quarter, Trey Edge scored the goal that gave the Hawks the lead. The Hawks held that lead for the rest of the game.

Shorter returns to action at Ben Brady Field on Saturday, February 20 against Mars Hill University with the game slated to start at 5 p.m.
