PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Shorter Hawks (2-1) are on the road this weekend to take on the University of West Florida (3-0). The Hawks took the field Saturday evening behind senior arm Taylor Boisclair, as he looks to lead the Hawks to their first win on the road.
The Argos did not waste any time breaking the game open early, in the bottom of the first, with RBI's being driven in by Cullan O'Shea and Jack Copley. The Argos added another in the third, by the Hawks answered in the top of the fourth with a solo home run from Nathaniel Butterworth. Copley responded in the fifth inning by driving in another RBI on the day, making it 4-1 Argos. Butterworth continued to swing a hot stick, driving in another run for the Hawks, making it 5-2 in the top of the sixth. Any hope the Hawks had of a comeback was ended by the Argos, adding two runs in the seventh and six runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Coach Wes Timmons and the Hawks look to rebound from the loss today as they prepare for a doubleheader tomorrow. The first pitch will be at 1 pm.
