ROME, Ga. – The Lady Hawks (16-12) fell to the University of Alabama Huntsville (UAH) Lady Chargers (19-7) 3-1 on Friday evening in their final home match of the 2021 regular season.
Friday's match was also Senior Day. Seniors
Victoria Ergle,
Casey Raschen and
Jovoreya Grant were all honored on the court before the match.
The Lady Chargers defeated the Lady Hawks 25-17 in the first set and 25-21 in the second set. Shorter defeated UAH 25-23 in the third set, but the Lady Chargers bounced back and defeated the Lady Hawks 25-23 in the fourth set.
Lacee Glover had 13 kills for Shorter while
Annie Veldhuis had 10 and
Carrington Terrell had nine.
Annie Smith had 22 assists, and
Madison Sprosty added in 28 digs.
As a team, the Lady Hawks had 52 kills, one ace, six blocks, 43 assists and 82 digs.
UAH overall had 51 kills, six aces, six blocks, 43 assists and 83 digs.
