WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Lady Hawks (14-9) fell to Palm Beach Atlantic University Lady Sailfish (11-11) 3-1 and the Embry-Riddle University Lady Eagles (18-4) 3-0 on Saturday in their final two matches of the Gulf South Conference (GSC)/Sunshine State Conference (SSC) crossover.
Game 1 (Shorter falls, 3-1)
The Lady Hawks defeated the Lady Sailfish 25-18 in the first set. However, the Lady Sailfish bounced back and defeated the Lady Hawks 25-4 in the second set, 25-12 in the third set and 25-19 in the fourth set.
Lacee Glover had 11 kills for Shorter in the first match of the day.
Katherine Patrick had seven blocks.
Annie Smith had 15 assists and also added in 10 digs while
Madison Sprosty added in eight digs.
As a team, the Lady Hawks had 30 kills, five aces, 10 blocks, 29 assists and 43 digs.
Palm Beach Atlantic overall had 45 kills, 15 aces, 10 blocks, 43 assists and 48 digs.
Game 2 (Shorter falls, 3-0)
The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Hawks 25-15 in the first set, 25-7 in the second set and 25-13 in the third set.
Emily Crocker had six kills for Shorter in this match while Patrick had five and
Carrington Terrell had four. Smith had 17 assists and Sprosty added in eight digs.
As a team, the Lady Hawks had 24 kills, two aces, two blocks, 23 assists and 27 digs.
Embry-Riddle overall had 47 kills, seven aces, 10 blocks, 42 assists and 30 digs.
