WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Lady Hawks (14-7) fell to the No. 10 University of Tampa Lady Spartans (17-2) 3-0 on Friday evening in their first match of the Gulf South Conference (GSC)/Sunshine State Conference (SSC) crossover.
The Lady Spartans defeated the Lady Hawks 25-15 in the first set, 25-23 in the second set and 25-17 in the third set.
Emily Crocker had 11 kills for Shorter.
Annie Smith had 24 assists and also added in 13 digs.
Reilly Swierbut added in nine digs.
As a team, the Lady Hawks had 31 kills, one ace, five blocks, 30 assists and 46 digs.
Tampa overall had 46 kills, four aces, seven blocks, 44 assists and 57 digs.

Shorter returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, October 23, in the GSC/SSC crossover. The Lady Hawks will face Palm Beach Atlantic University at 2:30 p.m. and then Embry-Riddle University at 7 p.m.
