WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The Lady Hawks (14-7) fell to the No. 10 University of Tampa Lady Spartans (17-2) 3-0 on Friday evening in their first match of the Gulf South Conference (GSC)/Sunshine State Conference (SSC) crossover.
 
The Lady Spartans defeated the Lady Hawks 25-15 in the first set, 25-23 in the second set and 25-17 in the third set.  
 
Emily Crocker had 11 kills for Shorter. Annie Smith had 24 assists and also added in 13 digs. Reilly Swierbut added in nine digs.
 
As a team, the Lady Hawks had 31 kills, one ace, five blocks, 30 assists and 46 digs.
 
Tampa overall had 46 kills, four aces, seven blocks, 44 assists and 57 digs.
