MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Lady Hawks (11-4) defeated the University of Montevallo Lady Falcons (8-8) 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Montevallo to win their seventh straight match.
Shorter defeated Montevallo 25-22 in the first set, but the Lady Falcons defeated the Lady Hawks 27-25 in the second set. Shorter bounced back and defeated Montevallo 25-23 in the third set and 25-22 in the fourth set.
Emily Crocker led the way for the Lady Hawks offensively and had 16 kills.
Lacee Glover had 13 kills while
Carrington Terrell had 11. Terrell additionally had a strong night at the net and had eight blocks.
Annie Smith had 40 assists. Smith added in 11 digs while
Victoria Ergle added in eight and
Madison Sprosty added in seven.
As a team, Shorter had 59 kills, 12 aces, 11 blocks, 54 assists and 45 digs.
Montevallo overall had 47 kills, 10 aces, 10 blocks, 46 assists and 46 digs.
