ROME, Ga. – The Lady Hawks (10-4) defeated the Lee University Lady Flames (4-7) 3-1 on Friday evening in the Winthrop-King Centre to earn their sixth consecutive win.
Lacee Glover recorded her 500th career kill in this match.
Shorter defeated Lee 25-14 in the first set, but the Lady Hawks fell to Lee 25-22 in the second set. The Lady Hawks quickly bounced back and defeated the Lady Flames 25-22 in the third set and 25-21 in the fourth set.
Glover and
Annie Veldhuis led the way for the Lady Hawks offensively and each had 11 kills.
Carrington Terrell had nine kills. Terrell additionally had a strong night at the net and had seven blocks.
Taryn Cycholl had 21 assists for Shorter while
Annie Smith had 17.
Madison Sprosty added in 19 digs while Glover added in nine and
Victoria Ergle added in eight.
As a team, Shorter had 45 kills, six aces, 11 blocks, 41 assists and 56 digs.
Lee overall had 51 kills, four aces, 43 assists and 63 digs.
